Stefan Eason, BABCP accredited CBT and EMDR therapist

About Stefan

I’m a BABCP accredited CBT Psychotherapist & EMDR Therapist, with extensive experience working in NHS Talking Therapies Services.

My Story

I have always been interested in Psychology and supporting people with emotional difficulties. This interest led me to specialise in evidence based psychological therapies within the NHS, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, and crucially, how psychological therapy can help people make lasting changes in their lives.

I work collaboratively with you to form a shared understanding of the problem. You are the expert in your own experiences. My role is to bring psychological knowledge and evidence based approaches to help us understand what’s keeping the problem going and identify practical ways forward.

I provide a safe and non-judgemental space where you feel listened to and respected. By taking a practical approach to therapy, we work together using CBT and/or EMDR to take concrete steps to better your overall emotional wellbeing.

Alongside working with a broad range of anxiety disorders and trauma, I have a particular interest in LGBTQ+ mental health and strive to provide an affirming therapeutic space where people feel understood, respected and able to be themselves.

My approach

What to expect from me

Compassionate

You’ll be listened to, without judgement, regardless of what brings you to therapy

Collaborative

We will work together to understand your difficulties and agree goals that feel meaningful to you.

Evidence-based

My practice is grounded in CBT & EMDR, using approaches supported by psychological research

Outside of the therapy room

Outside of work, I enjoy running, rugby and spending time outdoors in nature. I believe looking after our own wellbeing is important, and I try to bring that same balance and perspective into my work as a therapist.
